‘I saw the fall of Artsakh, and it made me even stronger’: Arega Hovsepyan to Civil Contract member

Arega Hovsepyan, nominated by the “Strong Armenia” faction as a candidate for chair of the National Assembly’s committee on European integration, responded in the National Assembly to a question from Araik Harutyunyan, a “Civil Contract” MP, about the agreement adopted in Prague on October 6, 2022, in which Nikol Pashinyan, prime minister, recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. She noted that she knows her homeland, knows where she was born, grew up, and got married, and where the graves of her grandfather, grandmother, and father are located.
“I acknowledge this and will never forget it, just as more than 120,000 Artsakh residents will not forget it. I have a different question: what does an Armenian feel when asking Artsakh residents such a question? What is his purpose in asking, to cause pain? Your questions have long since stopped being able to hurt me: I saw the fall of Artsakh, and that made my resilience even stronger,” Hovsepyan said, addressing Harutyunyan.
