‘At least they didn’t ask why you weren’t at the gas station when the explosion happened’: Anna Grigoryan

Questions concerning EU membership and geopolitics were completely natural, but the motives behind some questions were unclear and went beyond the bounds of political ethics. Anna Grigoryan, head of the “Armenia” faction, said this in the National Assembly, commenting on questions posed to Arega Hovsepyan, candidate for chair of the National Assembly’s committee on European integration.
“Looking at an Artsakh woman, they ask whether she recognizes Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. People who recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, surrendered it, and caused ethnic cleansing look at an Artsakh woman and say: ‘Recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.’ This is inhumane, it’s cruel. This goes beyond politics to be given political assessments. They ask why, specifically, Ms. Hovsepyan wasn’t in Stepanakert during the ethnic cleansing. At least they didn’t ask why you weren’t at the gas station when the explosion happened. Meanwhile, in those days, Nikol Pashinyan was going on live broadcasts saying that citizens were in no danger, that there was no talk of ethnic cleansing,” Grigoryan emphasized.
