Trump may strike Oman, but it’s not that simple: Aram Shahnazaryan
The ceasefire regime in the context of the Iran-US conflict cannot yet be called a real truce. The sides simply aren’t shooting, but that doesn’t mean a full ceasefire has been established. Aram Shahnazaryan, Armenian Diaspora figure, said this in a conversation with Alpha News, commenting on regional developments, statements by Donald Trump, US president, and the situation around the Strait of Hormuz.
“The fighting hasn’t fully stopped. In my view, this isn’t a truce. I insist that this isn’t a truce, the sides simply aren’t shooting,” Shahnazaryan noted.
According to him, intensive negotiations are currently underway between Iran and Oman regarding the future operation and management of the Strait of Hormuz.
“Iran and Oman are conducting intensive negotiations and are already close to an agreement on how the Strait of Hormuz will operate in the future,” Shahnazaryan added.
According to him, it is in this context that Trump’s threats against Oman should be viewed. He did not rule out that the US could theoretically strike certain targets, but the question is what consequences such a move could have for Washington.
