According to our information, Guren Arsenyan, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Armenia to Russia, will no longer work in Moscow. Nikol Pashinyan has decided to recall him, reports the newspaper “Zhokhovurd”.

“As our sources in the government assure us, this decision is final. It is not yet clear who will replace Arsenyan. According to our information, at this moment there is not even a specific candidate. The Prime Minister is dissatisfied with Arsenyan’s work, as he has failed to achieve a resolution to the tense Armenian-Russian relations. Meanwhile, it is obvious that Pashinyan himself cannot establish relations with Vladimir Putin.

One of the most striking episodes of this is that the President of the Russian Federation did not even congratulate Pashinyan after the parliamentary elections.
We attempted to obtain an official explanation regarding the recall of Arsenyan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed us that the matter is not within their jurisdiction and advised us to contact the office of the President of Armenia. The presidential administration suggested addressing the question to the government. The Prime Minister’s press secretary also did not officially respond to our question throughout yesterday.

However, against the backdrop of this official “going in circles,” our sources in the government claim that the recall of Guren Arsenyan is already an irreversible reality. It remains to be seen who will be sent to Moscow, and whether the change of ambassador can solve the political problem that has not yet been resolved even at the Pashinyan-Putin level,” the publication notes.
