Robert Kocharyan’s arrest is carried out at the request of Azerbaijan: Bagrat Mikoyan

The arrest of Robert Kocharyan, the second president, is a direct geopolitical order executed at the request of Azerbaijan. This was stated at a press conference by Bagrat Mikoyan, the head of the office of the second president.

He recalled that President Kocharyan had never avoided law enforcement agencies or tried to hide.

“Let’s remember: in 2018, the president, knowing that he would be arrested, returned to Armenia. This was the first arrest. He appeared personally at the second and third arrests. The fourth arrest was expected a long time ago – any day.

During this time, the president, being under investigation in numerous other criminal cases, left the country and returned dozens of times without any obstacles or attempts to escape. In other words, the president never shirked responsibility or hid. And now, at the current stage of Armenia’s fulfillment of Azerbaijan’s demands, the president’s re-arrest is a direct geopolitical order,” Mikoyan said.
