If Armenia introduces visas, it would be a step against Yerevan itself: Zakharova

The likely introduction of a visa regime by Armenia for Russian citizens would be a step directed not against Moscow, but against Yerevan itself, said Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson for Russia’s foreign ministry, at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“If Armenia suddenly introduces visas as well, it won’t be introducing them against us, it will be introducing them against its own citizens,” Zakharova told reporters.

She stressed that this decision would affect, among others, Russian citizens who have a large number of relatives in Armenia.
