Armenia has no intention, and has never had any intention, of introducing a visa regime with Russia, Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia’s prime minister, told reporters at a briefing, commenting on a statement by Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson for Russia’s foreign ministry, that the republic’s possible introduction of a visa regime for Russian citizens would be a step directed not against Moscow, but against Yerevan itself.
“We have no such intentions, and never have… On the contrary, we are very happy to welcome Russian tourists, who, as we can see, play an active role in advancing tourism relations between our two countries,” he said, answering a question about the possibility of introducing visas with Russia.
