In Moscow, students of the St. Grigor Narekatsi gymnasium learn about the history of Artsakh

Students of the Moscow gymnasium named after St. Grigor Narekatsi visited the Tapan Museum in Moscow on September 2, to mark Artsakh Independence Day, in order to learn more about the history of Artsakh, its churches and settlements.

Hovhannes Minasyan, head of the Lazarev Research Center for Armenian Studies of the diocese, showed a large-scale relief map of Artsakh and spoke about the region’s spiritual heritage, its history from ancient times to the present day, and the everyday life and traditions of its people.

Minasyan noted that although one part of historical Armenia, Artsakh, is today destroyed and emptied of its people, it continues to live on in the memory of Armenians. “The history of Artsakh has not ended as long as there is even one Armenian who longs for Artsakh and speaks of it. We believe we will return,” he stressed.
