Trump solved a problem that had stumped diplomats for decades by insisting on practical results rather than formal process. That approach paid off.

The leaders of the two countries signed two monumental documents in the rich history of their nations. The first is a joint declaration that set their peoples on a path toward lasting peace, economic cooperation, and full normalization of relations.
The second is the joint nomination of Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, marking the first time that the leaders of formerly warring countries have coordinated to nominate their mediator.
