Armenia has turned into a concentration camp for political prisoners: Lilit Galstyan

It is more than obvious that the leaders of Armenia’s four leading political forces are today either behind bars or, in some cases, under house arrest. This was stated by Lilit Galstyan, member of the National Assembly from the Armenia faction, at a press conference on the criminal case against Robert Kocharyan, second President of Armenia.

“These are all illegal processes that point to one thing – the deepening of the authoritarian regime in Armenia and political persecution,” she said.

The lawmaker stressed that all of this leads directly to the grossest violations of human rights.

“Unfortunately, we live in a reality where what was presented to the public as manna from heaven, as the realities of a ‘bastion of democracy,’ have turned Armenia into a place of political imprisonment, repression, a concentration camp. And this is the sad reality we increasingly face, one that is becoming ever deeper,” she added.
