Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received on October 16 a delegation of the Save Armenia organization headed by its executive director, Dr. Paul Murray.

The Supreme Patriarch blessed the organization and expressed appreciation for its efforts to defend the rights of Artsakh Armenians, secure the release of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, and preserve the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh. His Holiness also noted the organization’s work in defending freedom of conscience and religion and in advancing national issues on international platforms.

Speaking about initiatives aimed at promoting and preserving cultural heritage, the Supreme Patriarch highly praised Save Armenia’s participation in organizing the presentation of the Western Armenian translation of Antonia Arslan’s novel “The Book of Mush”. Speaking about the history of the rescue of the Mush Homiliary (Mshoy Charentir), His Holiness stressed that it bears witness to the unshakable will of the Armenian people to preserve their national, spiritual and cultural heritage, which finds expression in the present day as well.

Dr. Paul Murray thanked the Catholicos of All Armenians for the reception and presented the organization’s current work, assuring him that Save Armenia will continue to support the Armenian people and the Armenian Church.

During the meeting, the Supreme Patriarch also answered the guests’ questions about the spiritual mission of the Armenian Church and the mission of preserving the nation, interreligious relations, and Church-state relations.
