Forecasts of growth in Armenia’s trade with EU are speculative: study

The increase in exports from Armenia to European Union countries is unsustainable, so forecasts based on continued growth are speculative. This is shown by data from a study by the Eurasian Rating Agency, which TASS has obtained.
“It can be noted that the growth in exports to EU countries in 2025 compared with 2024 is unsustainable: over a two-year period, a decline is observed. Thus, forecasts based on extrapolating this growth are speculative,” the document says.
At the same time, it notes that alongside the decline in Armenian exports to Russia amid political complications, supplies to Belarus grew in parallel. “It can be assumed that some Armenian producers were forced to use Belarus as an intermediary trade partner, ultimately incurring higher costs and reduced competitiveness of their products,” the authors of the study stress.
