Issue of domestic violence excessively politicized: Anna Grigoryan

Anna Grigoryan, head of the Armenia faction, addressed legislative amendments on domestic violence at a session of Armenia’s National Assembly.

According to her, this extremely important and sensitive issue has been excessively politicized and, by and large, built around one person’s campaign.

“This has had a negative effect on the content of the bill. It is a sad fact,” she noted.

According to Grigoryan, the law has been in force since 2017, and the bill’s authors have proposed amendments and options for tougher penalties.
