Mesrop Manukyan, an MP, addressed Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy, in the National Assembly, asking how the ministry intends to help businesses that want to carry out licensed activities in the United Arab Emirates but face artificial obstacles in doing so.

“What tools do you have to solve this problem?” he asked, citing as an example the attempt to set up a mobile operator, which is also running into major difficulties.

Manukyan also suggested that the minister answer questions about economic indicators with specific figures, presenting the underlying absolute values rather than percentage changes.

In response, Papoyan said he did not share the MP’s assessment regarding the UAE, stressing that he considers it wrong to make such statements about a friendly partner country.
