Artur Papyan: Textbook creators should not provide a QR code link to other pages, it is not safe
Speaking with Alpha News, media expert Artur Papyan said that textbook creators should not provide a QR code link to some Facebook pages that are in the hands of third parties.
“We are already seeing some cases where the creators of the textbook, through the QR code, provide a link to some external resources that are beyond their control. This is done with a good purpose. They want to provide children with additional multimedia. However, if a link is given to a Facebook page, it should be clearly understood that Facebook is not under the control of the creator of the textbook, which means that, for example, this page may be blocked, hacked, or end up in other hands. The same applies to websites.
Thus, if the creators of the textbook really want to provide a link to a safe space, then this should be done in the form of a website that is attached to the textbook, and links to pages that are hosted by third parties should be limited,” Papyan said.
