Armenia has firmly taken the path of Russophobia, expert says
Speaking with Alpha News, political scientist Vladimir Skachko commented on the month-long shutdown of Sputnik Armenia.
According to Skachko, Armenia has firmly taken the path of Ukraine.
“The suspension of the Sputnik Armenia radio broadcast is a significant and symbolic step, which shows that Armenia has firmly taken the path of Ukraine and the path of Russophobia as the main ideological platform for separating Armenia from Russia. This is how Ukraine started and ended up with war. Now Armenia is doing the same, and God forbid it all ends in war, because these steps are Russophobic. Russophobia is hatred, and hatred is the worst building material for interstate relations,” the political scientist said.
Speaking about the crisis in Armenian-Russian relations, the expert said that these are attempts by the collective West to persuade the Armenian authorities to perform the functions not of the Armenian leadership but of a neo-colonial administration. “This should turn Armenia into an anti-Russian state and, using Armenians, fulfill the national interests not of Armenia but of the collective West. And the interests of the collective West in this region are containing Iran, provoking Turkiye and creating a hotbed of instability on the Russian border,” Skachko concluded.
