Elina Avanesyan wins her first victory representing Armenia

Tennis player Elina Avanesyan wins her first victory as an Armenian citizen at the WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open, sportball24 .com reports.

The 21-year-old Armenian defeated American Lauren Davis 6-3, 6-1 in two sets and advanced to the qualifying final.

In the final, Elina will play against Britain’s Harriet Dart.

Before the start of the tournament in the USA, Elina Avanesyan received an Armenian passport and now represents Armenia at the Cincinnati Open.
