On May 9, Priest Ghevond Temkin celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Catherine’s Armenian Church in St. Petersburg, Russia, to mark the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, one of the main events of Sacred History.

During the sermon, Priest Ghevond revealed the significance of the feast and noted that after the Ascension, the visible earthly presence of Christ gives way to His invisible presence in the Church, with the glory of the Ascension being the sure hope of our salvation.

On the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the Armenian Church also celebrates the relocation of the Catholicosates of All Armenians from the city of Sis to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

To mark this historic day, Father Ghevond performed a Patriarchal prayer service.
