A resident of Yerevan’s Shinararneri Street, speaking during a protest, expressed her outrage over the demolition of kiosks and shops in the Ajapnyak administrative district, calling it inhumane.
“We are being enslaved by slaves. It’s inhuman, it’s vile. All that’s left is to run us over with a tractor and be done with it,” she said.
According to the protester, the authorities talk about the need for public spaces, green areas and freedom of movement for people, but ignore citizens’ social problems.
“They say there should be a place for people to walk, there should be a green zone. And we say: let them raise our pensions and provide decent living conditions. Our pensions were raised once, and they’ll be raised by another thousand drams, while their salaries run into the millions,” she said.
