If exports of Armenian cognac to Russia were banned, it is Armenia that would suffer, the Russian Federation would be able to substitute the product. This was told to TASS on the sidelines of SPIEF by Boris Titov, owner and principal shareholder of the Abrau-Durso group of companies.

“If restrictions are imposed, Russia will absolutely survive, because there are alternative sources. There will be no problems in that regard. The problems will be on the Armenian side,” he said in response to a relevant question.

From May 30, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on imports into Russia of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, greens, and strawberries from Armenia. From June 2, the same restrictions were extended to supplies of sweet cherries, sour cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, nectarines, and grapes. In addition, from June 3, imports of pome fruits, eggplants, potatoes, and dried fruits from Armenia have been restricted.
