Armenia’s European integration is fantasy, expert says

Speaking with Alpha News, political scientist Stevan Gajic commented on the possibility of Armenia’s integration into the European Union.

According to the expert, the European integration of Armenia is an absolutely impossible process.

“Until now, for all countries, admission to the European Union was strictly linked to admission to NATO. Since Armenia will not be accepted into NATO for the reasons that neither Turkey, nor Russia, nor Iran, and none of Armenia’s neighbors want this, the European integration of Armenia is an absolutely impossible process. I believe this is an absolute fantasy.

Serbia, for example, has been in the European integration process for more than 20 years. It has come a long way, but it has been a painful process, with many humiliations for the country and the loss of a huge part of its sovereignty. The popularity of the European Union has dropped from 80% to 30%. The European Union has become very unpopular. The European Union is a remnant of the previous world system. This is a backward-looking organization that has many of its own problems and has begun to fall apart. So, what we hear from the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament regarding the European integration of Armenia is a complete fantasy,” Gajic said.

According to the expert, Armenians do not share European values.

“If Armenia is ready to introduce same-sex marriage, the transgender agenda, and so on, then it shares the values that are acceptable for such countries. As far as I know Armenians, this is not true because it completely denies the entire Armenian Christian history, which lasts more than a thousand years. So, I believe that statements that Armenia shares European values can be made either by a stupid person or a traitor,” Gajic concluded.
