On February 27, French Philaposte released a collection of stamps, paying homage to two major figures of the Armenian nation, the hero of the Resistance Movement Missak Manouchian and the world-renowned singer Charles Aznavour, reports the Armenian Embassy in France.

A collection of four stamps dedicated to Missak Manouchian has been released by the French postal company on the occasion of the induction of Manouchian into France’s Panthéon—alongside the greatest French figures. This collection has been issued in 8,000 copies.

The official release of Charles Aznavour’s stamp, with around 600,000 copies, is scheduled for May in connection with the legendary singer’s 100th anniversary.

The event was attended by Armenian Ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajian, Senate Vice President Pierre Ouzoulias and Brice Roquefeuil, Director for Continental Europe at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Charles Aznavour’s son Micha Aznavour, and Missak Manouchian’s great-niece Katia Guiragossian.
