Artsakh was the testing ground for the dissolution of statehood by Aliyev and Erdogan

While Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan continues his “crusade” against the Armenian Apostolic Church—aligning with the anti-church and anti-Armenian rhetoric of Azerbaijani authorities—Turkish “environmentalists” are attacking the Metsamor NPP. On June 1, 33 organizations dealing with environmental and human rights issues held a rally in Igdir, Turkey, calling for the closure of the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Armenia, Turkish media reported.
The protesters noted that, despite the plant’s scheduled service life expiration in 2025, it continues to function. Sabahat Aslan, President of the Mersin Association of Nature and Environment, said that the Metsamor NPP has an extremely negative impact on the environment and human health, especially in Igdir province.
It should be recalled that the blockade of the Lachin corridor also began with so-called “environmentalists,” albeit Azerbaijani ones. Today we see that they intend to use the same mechanism against Armenia. Analysts who can foresee developments beyond a mere “1-2 chess moves” warned as early as 2023: Artsakh was only a “testing ground” for Baku and Ankara, where the mechanics of the destruction of statehood were tested.
It worked with Artsakh, and this mechanism also works with the Gaza Strip, and therefore Azerbaijan considers it possible to apply it to Armenia. Now picture a scenario in which, following the surrender of Tavush-adjacent territories near Georgia’s gas pipeline, Armenian authorities, under the guise of “border delimitation,” hand over Tigranashen to the enemy. In this case, Baku will be able to block the gas pipeline from Iran, step by step repeating with Armenia what has already been done with the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
The actions of Turkish and Azerbaijani “environmentalists” clearly show that the Armenia-Azerbaijan-Turkey conflict was not limited to Artsakh. The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was only a pretext for economic pressure on Armenia—after all, the closed border is actually a sanction. The issue is that Armenia, as a sovereign state, is absent from Baku and Ankara’s strategic plans. The fall of Artsakh only brought Turkey and Azerbaijan closer to their goals.
It is important to understand that Armenia is a field for experimentation not only for Turkey and Azerbaijan, but also for the United States. Moreover, the activity of Turkish and Azerbaijani “environmentalists” against the Metsamor NPP is being used by the US to promote the idea of building a modular nuclear power plant in Armenia. There are no such stations in the world. By building it in Armenia, the United States will be able to use this project as a model for other countries. It was not enough for Armenia to have biolabs—now, experiments involving the peaceful atom are set to take place on its territory…
Think about it…
