Putin appointed Igor Chaika as head of Rossotrudnichestvo

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Igor Chaika as the head of Rossotrudnichestvo.
“To appoint Igor Yurievich Chaika as the head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, relieving him of his post,” the document says on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
By another decree, Putin dismissed Yevgeny Primakov from this position. He, in turn, said that he would like to return to journalism and conduct scientific activities.
Igor Chaika is the son of the former head of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Yuri Chaika. He is 37 years old. Prior to his appointment as head of Rossotrudnichestvo, he served as deputy head of the agency.
Rossotrudnichestvo is the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation.
