Rospotrebnadzor has additionally instructed the operator of the Chestny Znak system to suspend the sale in Russia of 64.5 million units of Armenian mineral water Jermuk, the agency’s press service told journalists.

“Rospotrebnadzor has issued an additional instruction to the operator of the Chestny Znak state labeling system to suspend the sale on the territory of the Russian Federation of 64.5 million units of Jermuk natural medicinal table drinking sparkling mineral water,” the statement reads.

The instruction was issued on the grounds that the manufacturer had violated mandatory requirements under technical regulations legislation. Testing found elevated levels of bicarbonate ion, chlorides, and sulfates in the water. This may create misleading impressions about its medicinal properties and have an adverse effect on health.

The agency also noted that since the beginning of 2026, Chestny Znak, acting on Rospotrebnadzor’s instructions, has already blocked the sale of 38.4 million units of bottled Jermuk water across retail and online channels.
