“Reading up on Daron Acemoglu. We were both born in 1967, a month apart, and went to the West for school. His mom was the principal of an Armenian school in Istanbul. Same here (but in Beirut)! His likely last name in Armenian is Ajemian, my mom’s maiden name. What’s going on?

Daron Acemoglu, born in Istanbul to Armenian parents, shares the Nobel Prize in Economics. Congratulations Daron! So happy for the nation of Armenia to have some good news to celebrate,” Patapoutian said in a post on X.
