Chess players Manvel Arakelyan and Manvel Vardanyan win medals at European Youth Chess Championship

Young chess player Manvel Arakelyan became the vice-champion in the Under-14 Blitz Chess category at the European Youth Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship, the Armenian Chess Federation reports.

Manvel scored 14 out of 18 possible points, sharing 1st to 3rd places and securing 2nd place based on tiebreak criteria.

Earlier, Arakelyan also won bronze in the European U14 Rapid Chess Championship, scoring 7 out of 9 points.

Another young representative of Armenia, Manvel Vardanyan, became the bronze medalist in the Under-8 Blitz Chess category. He scored 12.5 out of 18 possible points, sharing 3rd to 5th places and finishing 3rd on tiebreaks.
