Astrig Siranossian honored with France’s National Order of Merit

French Armenian cellist Astrig Siranossian has received the rank of Chevalier of the National Order of Merit—one of France’s highest honors. The award ceremony took place on September 25 at the prestigious École Normale de Musique de Paris.
The 36-year-old musician was recognized for her outstanding achievements and her active civic engagement. Born in Lyon, Siranossian has become one of the most prominent musicians of her generation. She is a laureate of international competitions and has performed at leading concert venues around the world, including the Philharmonie de Paris, Vienna’s Musikverein, and Carnegie Hall in New York.
