Spartak Mikayelyan becomes MMA World Champion among adults

Armenian fighter Spartak Mikayelyan (74.8 kg) won the gold medal at the 2025 IMMAF World MMA Championship held in Tbilisi, Sportaran reports.

In the decisive bout, the 21-year-old athlete secured a spectacular victory over Nigeria’s Benjamin Edozie, finishing the fight with a choke submission.

On his way to the title, Mikayelyan fought five matches and won them all: by choke submission, once by knockout, and twice by judges’ decision. His opponents came from the Czech Republic, Nigeria, Denmark, Kazakhstan, and Ireland. Mikayelyan had previously been a youth world champion, and now he has confirmed his class at the adult level.
