New members appointed to Supreme Spiritual Council

According to NEWS. am, by decision of the Catholicos, the following members were removed from the Supreme Spiritual Council: Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese; Bishop Gevork Saroyan, Primate of the Masyatsotn Diocese; and Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Baltic States Diocese.

They have been replaced by Bishop Makar Hakobyan, Primate of the Syunik Diocese; Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia; and Bishop Vahan Hovhanessian, Director of the Karekin I Educational Center.

Earlier, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin announced that, given the objective impossibility of convening the Church Representative Assembly since 2017, the Catholicos, in accordance with Article 7 of the statute of the Supreme Spiritual Council, made changes to its membership.
