Speaking with Alpha News, Americanist Malek Dudakov commented on the Trump Route (TRIPP) and the visit of US Vice President JD Vance to Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“As we can see, Donald Trump’s administration continues to promote its idea of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the creation of a so‑called ‘Trump Road’ or ‘Trump Corridor,’ which is supposed to ensure trade between these countries and other states in the region. The other thing is that so far this agreement remains very abstract and largely symbolic. In other words, we don’t see any obvious, significant progress toward turning this agreement into something more than just a promise by both sides at the current moment,” Dudakov said.

According to the expert, Vance’s visit will draw attention to all these agreements, but it is unlikely to produce any substantial results.

“The American administration will surely try to use this visit as an opportunity to strengthen its influence in the region, to counter the influence of Iran and other states—China and Russia. But their capabilities here are, of course, limited, because there is no talk of any US military presence for now, although we have heard discussions that some private military companies might be sent, but the likelihood of this is not very high. And in this regard, frankly speaking, I believe this visit will be more of a formal one, and it is unlikely that anything serious will come out of it,” Dudakov concluded.
