On his official visit to Yerevan, US Vice President JD Vance and his wife visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

Vance was welcomed by Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Edita Gzoyan, Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, and US Chargé d’Affaires in Armenia David Allen.

Gzoyan accompanied Vance and his wife to the memorial complex, where she spoke about the history of its construction.

The US Vice President laid a wreath at the monument commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Afterwards, the guests placed flowers at the Eternal Flame and observed a moment of silence in memory of the innocent victims.

At the end of the visit, Vance signed the guestbook of honor:
“In solemn remembrance of the lives lost, we honor the resilience and enduring spirit of the Armenian people. May America and Armenia strive for a future of peace and understanding together.”

Gzoyan thanked Vance for the visit and presented him with books on the Armenian Genocide and the Artsakh issue.
