Polling in Armenia has become a tool of influence — surveys are distorted and misleading: Bagrat Mikoyan

In Armenia, it has long been, and especially recently, increasingly evident that polling is used not so much to measure public sentiment as to shape and influence it. This was stated by Bagrat Mikoyan, head of the office of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan, in response to a question from Pastinfo.
“I will not comment on the results of any particular surveys, but I can say that some people have already lost their sense of proportion, even in terms of how they use this distorted data. I think the best poll will take place on June 7. We have our own surveys, the results of which fully satisfy us at this stage for moving forward. We are continuing our work,” Mikoyan said, calling on those wishing to verify the credibility of the latest published polls to examine the polling data released ahead of the Yerevan Council of Elders elections.
