Garnik Cholakyan wins silver at European Weightlifting Championships in Batumi

Garnik Cholakyan, an Armenian weightlifter (60), won a silver medal at the European Weightlifting Championships in Batumi, Georgia, with a total of 274 kg in the combined event. The Armenian athlete also placed second in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.

The gold medal was won by Bulgarian weightlifter Angel Rusev, who became a six-time European champion.

Armenia is represented by 16 athletes at the European Weightlifting Championships in Batumi.
