What is happening in Stepanakert is vandalism against human history: Alexander Cheryomin
Alexander Cheryomin, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, writer, and expert on the history of Russia and neighboring states, commented to Alpha News on reports that Azerbaijanis have destroyed churches in Stepanakert.
“What is happening today in Stepanakert is an act of vandalism against human history. Of course, only barbarians could resort to the destruction of sacred sites, specifically those of the Armenian Apostolic Church, as well as other structures connected to the Great Patriotic War. This shows that Azerbaijan is an aggressor state that is, in fact, destroying humanity’s memory, and this reflects the true nature of the authorities in Baku,” he said.
According to the historian, the Aliyev regime is engaging in vandalism on lands that never belonged to the state, which, he claims, was artificially created only in 1918.
“The international community must, of course, pay attention to this repeatedly occurring fact. And it is necessary for the United Nations and other international organizations to take note of what the Aliyev regime is doing on historically Armenian lands, as well as on territories that never belonged to the state that was artificially created only in 1918,” Cheryomin said.
