From May 3 to 11, Yerevan will host a series of cultural events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of musician, artist, director, and producer Stas Namin.
The program will open with the drama “My Heart’s in the Highlands” by the Stas Namin Theater. The production is based on stories by Armenian writer William Saroyan. It will feature an excerpt from Namin’s opera, poetry by Mandelstam, and music composed by the artist’s mother.
Until May 11, Namin’s works will be exhibited at the Union of Artists of Armenia. The band “Tsvety” (“Flowers”) will accompany musicals on May 5 and 6, and will perform a major concert on May 7.
The musician is the son of writer and musician Nami Mikoyan and military pilot Alexey Mikoyan, and the grandson of Anastas Mikoyan, a member of the CPSU Central Committee Politburo.
