On June 2, elections for members of the Glendale City Council will be held in the city of Glendale, California, United States. Twelve candidates are participating in the race, nine of whom are Armenians. Alpha News spoke with David Mnatsakanyan, Glendale City Council candidate, about the issue.
“Yesterday our election campaign officially launched, and I am very pleased to have strong support within the community. The event was attended by people familiar with my work. I presented the programs that I plan to implement or have already implemented in Glendale. I am glad that people tend to choose candidates who have already done tangible work,” Mnatsakanyan noted.
According to him, these elections will also have an impact on Armenians living in neighboring districts.
“There is intense competition among the candidates right now. Unfortunately, among the Armenian candidates, I am the only one who has been attending Glendale City Council meetings for the past seven months and regularly raising issues concerning the city. I would like the other candidates to attend as well, because anyone can make promises, but they must be turned into real actions,” David Mnatsakanyan concluded.
