Overchuk on possible measures against Armenian imports

Any new possible measures regarding Armenian imports will depend on whether a potential risk to consumers is found in the products or not, Alexey Overchuk, deputy chairman of the Russian government, told RIA Novosti in response to a question on the matter.
“If something is found, there will be (measures – ed.); if not, there won’t be,” he said in a conversation with the agency on the sidelines of the SPIEF.
Commenting on the recent measures against Armenian goods, Overchuk noted that new products from Armenia need to be inspected, this is a normal process. “Russia is not imposing any restrictions on Armenian imports. This is routine work related to the fact that a new harvest has come in and new products have arrived, naturally, certain things come up during inspections,” he concluded.
