“If Pashinyan takes his cues from Aliyev or the US, our situation will get worse”: a poll in Vayots Dzor region

In a poll by Alpha News, a resident of the Vayots Dzor region stated that if Pashinyan orients himself toward Aliyev, Erdogan, or the United States, the situation in the country will deteriorate.

“Our main ally is Russia. Many people are now pinning their hopes on Iran, but Iranian gas does not have the same calorific value as Russian gas. In the end, ordinary people like me will suffer,” the Alpha News poll participant noted.

According to residents, the authorities’ claims that “everything is fine in the country, people are eating apricots and engaged in exports” are a sign of inadequacy.

“People keep livestock in order to be able to give their children and grandchildren an education in Yerevan, but they cannot sell either their milk or their cheese,” another Alpha News poll participant emphasized.
