Georgian customs officers at the “Sadakhlo Motor Vehicle” and “Ninotsminda” checkpoints stopped two trucks carrying 22,290 cut roses from Armenia. This was reported today by the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

During border quarantine control, specialists identified a discrepancy between the shipment and Georgia’s phytosanitary requirements. Live harmful organisms, as well as traces of damage caused by them, were found on the plants.

In accordance with Resolution No. 463 of the Government of Georgia, dated September 20, 2019, the shipment of flowers was not permitted to enter the country and is subject to return to the exporting country, the statement said.
