A peace treaty with Azerbaijan is of key importance for the country’s development and for the return of compatriots being held in Baku. However, any attempts by Azerbaijan to establish a demographic presence in Armenia must be prevented.
This was stated by Narek Karapetyan, head of the Strong Armenia faction, during debates in Armenia’s National Assembly. According to him, a new national ideology is taking shape in Azerbaijan, as evidenced by statements from the Minister of Education about the return of the so-called “Western Azerbaijan.”
“This is not alarmism, but a real danger. We propose adopting an ‘anti-Safarov’ law that will prohibit Azerbaijanis from staying in Armenia for more than 10 days and from owning land or property here. This way, the issue will be resolved once and for all,” Karapetyan stressed.
