The article providing for territorial claims against Baku should be removed from Armenia’s Constitution: Hajiyev

Hikmet Hajiyev, aide to the President of Azerbaijan, stated that “the article of Armenia’s Constitution providing for territorial claims against Azerbaijan, as well as against Turkey, must be removed.”

In an interview with Turkish channel Haber Global, he noted that incoming signals indicate the start of preparations for a new Constitution of Armenia.

According to Hajiyev, once territorial claims are removed from Armenia’s basic law, Azerbaijan sees no obstacles to signing a final peace treaty. He also stressed that a de facto peaceful situation has already taken shape in the region.

Speaking about relations between Azerbaijanan and Turkey, Hajiyev stated that the strategic alliance between the two countries remains unchanged.
