A business jet crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people on board, Sean Duffy, U.S. Secretary of Transportation, said.
“At 12:50 p.m. Eastern Time (21:50 Yerevan time), a Learjet 60 crashed. All nine people on board were killed,” Duffy wrote on X.
According to him, the plane had taken off from Austin, Texas, and was bound for the Bahamas. “The plane crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, is a terrible tragedy,” the secretary added.
Citing radio communication recordings, The Washington Post reported that shortly before the crash, the pilot told air traffic controllers about rain and icing, and then issued a distress call.
