The dispute over the Cows’ Garden concerns all Christian representations, Sedrak Palyan, the founder of the “Save the ARQ” movement, told Alpha News.

“We welcome the Lemkin Institute’s statement and appreciate that it has addressed this issue. This issue concerns not only the Armenian community of Jerusalem; it is a problem of all Christian representations,” he said.

According to Palyan, they have achieved success since they voiced this problem in the media.

“We have been raising awareness about this issue in the media for six months. Over the past month, during which we have been on 24/7 duty outside the Cows’ Garden, we have given over 100,000 interviews to various media outlets. We have established contacts with various European embassies and consulates. This issue was also raised by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. Pressure was exerted thanks to the ‘Save the ARQ’ movement and those young people who fought day and night to cancel this shameful and illegal deal,” Palyan concluded.
