This year, the Median Day of Great Lent, also known as Mijink, was celebrated on March 6.

The Divine Liturgy on the occasion of Mijink was held in the Armenian Diocese of Georgia.

An unleavened cake was first consecrated at the Saint George’s Church and the Ejmiatsin Church in the district of Avlabari, after which it was distributed to the believers.

According to Archbishop Malachia Ormanian, Mijink is the 24th day or the fourth Wednesday of the period of Great Lent, symbolizing that the first half of the period of Great Lent has already passed.

According to folk tradition, housewives bake unleavened cake and put a coin in it. The year will be successful for those who get a piece of cake with the coin.
