Garnik Danielyan: The power structures exert psychological pressure on the Kirants residents

The current authorities are forcing the residents of Kirants to come to terms with reality, otherwise they may be deprived of compensation, MP of the Hayastan faction Garnik Danielyan told Alpha News.

“The current authorities instill in people the idea that there is no other way out, and border delimitation is the only option. If they do not follow the proposed path and do not come to terms with reality, they may be deprived of the compensation that is planned to be provided. It is no coincidence that a few days ago they released a statement saying that the certificates given to the residents were allegedly issued by mistake. So, there was additional pressure on people. The authorities want to show that these people can lose both their home and their property, and if they continue to fight, they will lose the compensation as well,” Danielyan noted.

The MP emphasized that all power structures located in Kirants exert psychological pressure on the village residents.

“The village is under a complete blockade, the authorities do not allow anyone to enter Kirants, making it seem like the residents are powerless and under their control. It turns out that from one side, it is Azerbaijan, and from the other side, it is Armenian border troops and special units that are keeping Kirants under siege. All these power structures exert psychological pressure on people. This is the whole reality,” Danielyan concluded.
