Mother See condemns actions of police who tried to prevent Catholicos of All Armenians from entering Sardarapat Memorial 

Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has condemned the actions of the police who tried to prevent Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II from entering the Sardarapat Memorial.

“The reprehensible attitude of the police towards the clergy during the visit of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II to the Sardarapat Memorial on May 28 on Republic Day, as well as violence and bans to enter the territory of the memorial complex, are yet another episode of shameful and anti-national actions of the authorities.

Despite the police brutality and bans, the Supreme Patriarch offered prayers to God for the repose of the souls of the brave sons of the Armenian people killed in the heroic battles of May,” the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin said.
