On July 7, Russia’s Sochi hosted events dedicated to the traditional Armenian holiday Vardavar, or Transfiguration of the Lord, the local Armenian community reports.

The biggest summer holiday was accompanied by songs, dances, and pouring water on each other.

Liturgies, water blessings, and fruit blessing ceremonies were held in the Armenian churches of Sochi on that day, after which folk festivities began.

A concert was prepared, with the city’s vocal and dance studios participating.
