Armenia is no longer a subject; unfortunately, it is an object that has put itself up for auction, political analyst Arman Abovyan told Alpha News .

“We talk about specific persons and say that if there is someone else instead of this person, the situation will change. No. There is systematic work going on here. Moreover, it has been going on for quite a long time, even before 2018, to dramatically reduce Russian, Iranian, and Chinese influence.

What will it lead to? We observe that a new architecture is being formed in the region, where the main geopolitical centers are in serious confrontation with each other.

We must state that the main trigger of this confrontation is this government, whose actions led to the clash and fight of the largest geopolitical centers,” Abovyan said.

According to Abovyan, the West has given guarantees to the current administration of Armenia to keep power. “The problem is that the clash of these geopolitical centers essentially shows that Armenia, unfortunately, is no longer a subject but an object. It is an ethno-political structure that has put itself up for auction and says, We will follow those who will guarantee that we will keep the power. I think that, apparently, the West has given a certain guarantee.

Let’s proceed from here. For the National Security System, it is beneficial for the Republic of Armenia to exist. It is beneficial for Russia because it lowers the Western and Turkish threat in the South Caucasus, and it is beneficial for Iran. Those two states consider the existence of Armenia within the borders that exist today. But today, in order to preserve its power, this government has made a principled decision: the territory of the Republic of Armenia has agreed to be divided,” the political analyst said.

Arman Abovyan commented on why the government is talking about enclaves and why it did not consider other maps where the entire territory of Armenia is marked.

“They say enclaves; what is that? It is a division, because even when the word enclave is taken from the post-Soviet maps of 1974-1977, a logical question arises: Why can’t we take another map as an example, where a pillar of the Armenian security system—the road that connects Armenia with Georgia and Iran—is marked?” he concludedю
