After the first round of the presidential election in Abkhazia on February 15, opposition blogs wrote that almost the entire Armenian population voted for Badru Gunba, who is supported by Moscow. Later, audio recordings were circulated on social media, where Enver Bganba, nephew of acting president Valery Bganba and close associate of opposition candidate Adgur Ardzinba, was going to organize mass intimidation of the Armenian population of Abkhazia.
Enver Bganba visited the former head of the Armenian community of Abkhazia Khachik Minasyan and apologized. Khachik Minasyan, in turn, expressed deep respect for the Bganba family and noted that such issues should be resolved calmly and the centuries-old friendly relations between Armenians and Abkhazians should not be questioned.
